Why This Recipe Is So Delicious
Pro Cooking Tips
- Use fresh strawberries for the best flavor and texture.
- Stir the glaze continuously while cooking to keep it smooth and prevent sticking.
Directions
Mix the strawberry preserves, tomato puree, vinegar, sugar, chili powder, red pepper flakes, cumin, cayenne, and black pepper in a medium pot. Give it a good whisk to smooth out any lumps. Place the pot over medium-low heat and let the mixture come to a gentle simmer. Keep it cooking, stirring often so it doesn’t stick or burn on the bottom. After about 30 minutes, the sauce should be thick and glossy, and it will coat the back of a spoon nicely. Taste it and add a pinch of kosher salt to bring out the flavors. Once it’s done, take the pot off the heat and let the sauce cool down before pouring it into a sealed container for storage.
