Why This Recipe Is So Flavorful
Tips To Improve This Recipe
- Cook the mushrooms until they release their moisture and start to brown for the best taste.
- Stir the sauce gently and avoid boiling after adding cream to keep it smooth and silky.
Step 1
Bring a pot of salted water with a little oil to a boil. Add the penne and cook until it’s almost done, then drain and set aside.
Step 2
In a pan, heat some butter and oil together. Toss in the chopped garlic and sauté for about a minute until fragrant.
Step 3
Sprinkle in the cornflour and cook it for another minute, stirring to combine.
Step 4
Add the mushrooms to the pan and cook for 2-3 minutes until they start to soften. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper.
Step 5
Pour in the milk and let it simmer for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally until the sauce thickens.
Step 6
Stir in the cooked pasta, then sprinkle over some chili flakes and oregano. Give everything a good mix and serve warm.
