Why This Recipe Stands Out
Chef's Cooking Tips
- Sear the chicken breasts in a hot pan to lock in juices before baking or finishing on the stove.
- Let the chicken rest for a few minutes after cooking to keep it tender and juicy.
Directions
Gently heat your oven to 450°F (230°C). Line a baking dish with foil and give it a light spray with cooking oil to keep things from sticking. In a small saucepan over medium heat, warm the oil and garlic together until you can really smell the garlic—this should take about 2 minutes. Turn the heat down a bit, add the brown sugar, and stir everything until it melts into a smooth sauce, which usually takes around 3 minutes. Place the chicken breasts in the baking dish and pour the sauce evenly over them. Sprinkle some black pepper on top for a little extra flavor. Pop the dish in the oven and bake for about 30 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and no longer pink inside. If you have a meat thermometer, the internal temperature should read 165°F (74°C) near the bone when it’s done.
