Kitchen Tricks
- Use a slightly tight-fitting lid to keep steam in while cooking for fluffy grains.
- Let the rice rest covered for 10 minutes after cooking to allow moisture to distribute evenly.
Directions
Stir the instant brown rice, parsley, and a good pinch of black pepper in a microwave-safe bowl. In a separate measuring cup, combine the butter and lemon juice, then add chicken broth until the total liquid reaches one cup. Pour this mixture over the rice and stir everything together so the rice is evenly moistened. Cover the bowl with a microwave-safe lid and heat it in the microwave for about 7 minutes, or until the rice is tender and has soaked up the liquid. Once it’s done, let it sit covered for another 5 minutes to finish steaming. Give it a fluff with a fork before serving, and enjoy!
