Why This Recipe Is So Loved
Tips From The Kitchen
- Avoid overbaking to keep the brownies soft and gooey inside.
- Let the batter come to room temperature before baking for even cooking.
Step 1
In a heatproof bowl, combine the chocolate, butter, and sugar. Place the bowl over a pot of simmering water and stir until everything is melted and smooth.
Step 2
Remove from heat and stir in the flour, cocoa powder, and baking powder until well mixed. Then add the hot milk and vanilla extract, and give it another good stir.
Step 3
Grease or line your baking tin, pour in the batter, and bake at 180°C (350°F) for about 30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
Step 4
While the brownie cools, whip the cream in a bowl for about 5 minutes until it starts to thicken. Add the powdered sugar and continue whipping until soft peaks form.
Step 5
Spread the whipped cream gently over the cooled brownie.
Step 6
In a small bowl, mix the chocolate with hot milk until smooth, then drizzle this chocolate sauce over the cream.
Step 7
Finish by sprinkling a little cocoa powder on top. Slice, serve, and enjoy!
