Helpful Chef Tips
- Don’t overfill the tart shells to prevent the filling from spilling out.
- Bake on a lower rack to help the bottoms cook evenly and avoid sogginess.
Step 1
Gently heat your oven to 400°F (205°C). Place the tart shells on a baking sheet and pop them in the oven. Keep an eye on them and take them out once the edges turn golden, which should take about 10 minutes.
Step 2
Turn the oven down to 350°F (175°C) and move a rack to the upper third of the oven. While the oven cools, mix together the brown sugar, golden syrup, butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt in a bowl until the filling is smooth and well combined.
Step 3
Spoon the filling into the tart shells, filling each about two-thirds full. Bake the tarts on the upper rack for around 15 minutes, or until the filling bubbles and turns a lovely golden color. Once done, take them out and let them cool on a wire rack for a few minutes. They’re delicious served warm or at room temperature!
