Why This Recipe Works
Quick Kitchen Tips
- Brush the breadsticks with melted butter before baking for a golden finish.
- Keep an eye on them while baking to avoid over-browning.
Step 1
Heat your oven to 450°F (230°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. In a mixing bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and honey, then let it sit for about 10 minutes until it gets nice and creamy. Next, add the flour, Parmesan, olive oil, a teaspoon of Italian seasoning, and some salt to the yeast mixture. Mix everything until the dough is smooth and pulls away from the sides of the bowl. Let it rest for about 5 minutes.
Step 2
Lightly flour your work surface, then pinch off pieces of dough about the size of 3 tablespoons. Roll each piece into a little log and place them on your prepared baking sheet. Bake the breadsticks for 13 to 15 minutes, until they start to turn a light golden color.
Step 3
While they’re baking, mix together some melted butter, garlic salt, and the remaining Italian seasoning. When the breadsticks come out of the oven, brush them with this buttery mixture and pop them back in for another 3 minutes or so, just until they’re beautifully golden and flavorful. Enjoy!
