Why This Recipe Is So Tasty
Smart Cooking Tips
- Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes to prevent spreading while baking.
- Don’t overbake; remove cookies when edges are golden but centers are still soft.
Step 1
In a large bowl, combine the brown sugar, white sugar, and melted butter. Mix everything together really well until smooth.
Step 2
Crack in the egg (make sure it’s at room temperature) and beat it into the mixture for about 3-4 minutes until it’s nice and creamy.
Step 3
Add the flour, baking powder, and a pinch of salt. Stir until everything comes together into a dough. Then fold in the chocolate chips.
Step 4
Scoop out small balls of dough and place them on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Pop the tray in the fridge for about 15 minutes to firm up the dough a bit.
Step 5
Once chilled, bake the cookies in a preheated oven at 170°C (340°F) for 15-18 minutes, until they’re golden around the edges.
Step 6
Let the cookies cool completely on a wire rack before digging in.
Step 7
Serve and enjoy your homemade treats!
