Why This Dish Is So Special
Helpful Cooking Tips
- Avoid pressing down on the patties while grilling to keep them juicy.
- Use a meat thermometer to check for an internal temperature of 165°F to ensure they are fully cooked.
Directions
In a bowl, mix together the turkey, chopped basil, minced garlic, salt, and pepper until everything is well combined. Shape the mixture into four equal-sized patties. Heat up your grill to medium-high and lightly brush the grates with oil to prevent sticking. Cook the patties for about 4 minutes on each side. When you flip them the second time, add a slice of provolone cheese on top and let it melt while the burgers finish cooking. While the patties are grilling, toss the ciabatta rolls on the grill for a couple of minutes until they’re nicely toasted. In a small bowl, stir together the mayonnaise and pesto until smooth, then spread this mixture on the toasted rolls. Finally, assemble your burgers by adding the turkey patties, then top with sliced red onion and some fresh lettuce. Enjoy!
