Ingredients
- 12 ounces pork sausage patties
- cooking spray
- 5 eggs
- ½ teaspoon adobo seasoning
- ½ cup shredded Muenster cheese
- 5 multi-grain sandwich rolls (such as SandwichThins®)
Why This Dish Is Worth Trying
Cooking Tips
- Toast the bread or English muffins for extra crunch.
- Add a slice of cheese while the egg is still hot to help it melt perfectly.
Step 1
Flatten each sausage patty between two sheets of wax paper—using a tortilla press makes this super easy. Pop them in the freezer for about 30 minutes until they’re firm but not frozen solid. Next, heat a little cooking spray in a skillet over medium-high heat and cook the sausage patties for 2 to 3 minutes on each side until they’re nicely browned. Once cooked, place them on a rack set over a foil-lined pan so any extra grease can drip off. Wipe out the skillet before moving on.
Step 2
In a bowl, beat the eggs together with the adobo seasoning until the mixture is light and a bit frothy. Spray an egg ring with cooking spray and set it in the skillet. Pour some of the egg mixture in and cook until the edges start to set, about 2 to 3 minutes. Carefully remove the ring, flip the egg, and cook for another 2 to 4 minutes until fully set. Repeat this process to make five egg rounds.
Step 3
Slice your sandwich rolls in half, then build your sandwiches by layering a sausage patty, an egg round, and some Muenster cheese on the bottom halves. Top with the other half of the roll, wrap each sandwich tightly in wax paper and then foil. Store them in the freezer until you’re ready to heat them up and enjoy a quick, tasty breakfast.
