What Makes This Recipe Unique
Kitchen Tricks
- Stir gently and consistently to avoid crystallization and keep the texture smooth.
- Allow the fondant to cool completely before shaping or coating with chocolate for best results.
Directions
Sift the powdered sugar into a bowl a few times to get rid of any lumps. In a separate bowl, beat the butter, corn syrup, and salt with an electric mixer on medium speed until the mixture is light and fluffy—this usually takes about 5 minutes. Then, gradually add the sifted powdered sugar and keep beating until everything is well combined. Turn the fondant out onto a clean surface that's been dusted generously with powdered sugar. Knead it for about 5 minutes until it feels smooth and easy to work with. Once that’s done, cut the dough in half, wrap each piece tightly in plastic wrap, and pop them in the fridge to chill for at least half an hour.
