Why This Recipe Works
Tips From The Kitchen
- Let the cheese melt over the chicken while it’s still hot to get a gooey, smooth finish.
- For extra crispiness, double-dip the chicken in the batter before frying.
Step 1
In a bowl, mix the chicken with ginger garlic paste, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Let it rest for at least 15 minutes to soak up the flavors.
Step 2
In another bowl, combine the all-purpose flour with cumin seeds, oregano, salt, pepper, chili flakes, and chopped coriander leaves. Add a little water and whisk until you get a smooth batter.
Step 3
Dip each piece of chicken into the batter, making sure it’s well coated, and set them aside.
Step 4
Heat some oil in a pan over medium-low heat and fry the chicken until it turns golden brown. Once done, remove and set aside.
Step 5
In a separate pan, heat ½ cup of oil, add some flour, and cook it for about a minute. Slowly pour in the milk, stirring constantly until the sauce thickens. Season with salt, pepper, and chili flakes.
Step 6
Stir in ketchup, then add the mozzarella cheese. Cook for a couple of minutes until the cheese melts and the sauce is nice and gooey.
Step 7
Arrange the fried chicken on a serving plate, pour the cheesy sauce over the top, and garnish with fresh coriander leaves. Enjoy!
