Why This Recipe Is So Enjoyable
Cooking Hints
- Use a hot pan or oven to get the bacon nice and crispy.
- Season the cabbage with salt and pepper before cooking to enhance its natural flavors.
Step 1
Heat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and lightly grease a baking sheet with some nonstick spray. Remove the outer leaf from the cabbage, then slice it into steaks about an inch thick. Lay the cabbage steaks out on the baking sheet. Take some smashed garlic and rub it onto both sides of each steak. Next, brush olive oil over them evenly, then sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste.
Step 2
Pop the cabbage into the oven and roast for about 30 minutes. When the time’s up, carefully flip the steaks over. Lay 1 or 2 slices of bacon on top of each one, then sprinkle a little brown sugar over everything. Put the pan back in the oven and roast for another 30 minutes or so, until the cabbage is tender and the bacon is nice and crispy.
