Why This Dish Is Amazing
Cooking Techniques
- Don’t overmix the batter to keep the brownies tender.
- Check for doneness by inserting a toothpick; it should come out with a few moist crumbs.
Directions
Warm your oven to 350°F (175°C) and greasing a 9x13-inch baking pan. In a large bowl, mix together the pumpkin, brown sugar, applesauce, egg whites, and the whole egg. Use an electric mixer on medium speed until everything is well combined. Next, add the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt. Switch your mixer to low and blend until the batter is nice and smooth. Pour the batter into your prepared pan and spread it out evenly. Pop it in the oven and bake for about 20 to 25 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean when you poke the center. Once it’s done, take it out and let it cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before slicing and serving.
