Move an oven rack so it’s about 6 inches from the broiler and preheat the broiler. Lay your bread slices on a baking sheet and pop them under the broiler for about 1 to 2 minutes, just until they get nicely toasted. While that’s happening, mix together some mashed avocado, chopped red onion, and fresh cilantro in a bowl.
