Why This Recipe Is So Easy To Love
Cooking Hints
- Brush the glaze on during the last 20 minutes to avoid burning the sugars.
- Use a meat thermometer to check for an internal temperature of 140°F for best results.
Step 1
Gently heat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Take a sharp knife and gently score the fatty side of the ham in a diamond pattern, spacing the cuts about an inch apart. If you like, press whole cloves into the points where the lines cross for extra flavor. Pop the ham into a shallow roasting pan and cover it loosely with foil.
Step 2
Bake the ham for about an hour and a half. While it’s nearing the end of that time, warm up the apricot preserves in a small saucepan over medium heat until they turn liquidy. Take it off the heat and stir in the honey mustard until everything’s combined.
Step 3
Once the ham’s cooked, brush that tasty glaze all over it. Put it back in the oven, uncovered this time, and let it bake for another 15 to 20 minutes until the glaze is beautifully caramelized. When it’s done, let the ham rest for about 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
